“天主，远自我幼年时，你已教导了我。直至今日，我仍宣示你的微妙。天主，即我发白年老，求你也不要离弃我，直至我将你的威力宣示给这一代，将你的奇能传述给下一代。” （咏71:17-18）
一个人永远不会因年老而不能事奉天主，也不会永远不会因年老而不能祈祷。雖然年龄大了可能使我们无法进行某些体力活动，但却不能庄抑我们内心的渴望，也不能限制我们向他人，尤其是向我们的孩子，讲述说我们一生中所见证的天主所行的一切作为。
