St. Joseph , The Model of Openness to and Trust in God.

“Joseph, son of David” the angel said “Do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the Child within Her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 1:20 

In response to subsequent divine communications in dreams, Joseph along with Mary and Jesus eludes the plan of Herold to kill Jesus “Get up! Flee to Egypt with the Child and His Mother”, the Angel said. “Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herold is going to search for the child to kill Him.” Flees into Egypt. 

And returns to Nazareth “Get up!” The angel said “Take the child and His mother back to the land of Israel. Because those who were trying to kill the child are dead.” Matthew 2:20

“So the family went and lived in a town called Nazareth.” Matthew 2:23 

In current Jubilee year of Hope, we are called to imitate St Joseph. To be opened to and trust in the Lord Jesus. To experience the hope that “will not lead disappointment.” Roman 5:5

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with Joy and peace because you trust in Him.

“Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Roman 15:13
