A New Liturgical Year

In a one-year cycle, we encounter the Lord Jesus Christ at His birth, Public Ministry of teaching, healing and casting out Demons, death, Resurrection, Ascension, the out pouring His Holy Spirit and the great beginning of His Holy Catholic Church.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good.” Psalm 34:8

Accompanying it we remember the great examples of faith, the feasts of the Saints.

Their hope and trust in God and the power of God at world in their lives inspire and strengthen us.

In this New Liturgical year, the Gospel readings are mainly taken from the gospel of St. Luke.

The Gospel according to St. Luke, at a glance

1. Author: Luke, a Gentile Christian and physician, and a disciple of St. Paul.

2. Date written : Around A.D. 60

3. Audience : Gentile Christians.

4. The Symbol : The calf. The calf is the animal of sacrifice. St Luke saw in Jesus the sacrifice for all the world.

c. Praising and thanking God for His gifts.

d. Mary, the model of Faith.
