Divine Mercy Sunday

Put on your new nature, created to be like God, truly righteous and holy. (Ephesians 4:22-24)

Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God, truly righteous and holy. (Ephesians 4:22-24)

One of the great things about a relationship with God that we can be grateful for, is His word says that His mercy is new every day. Jesus chose disciples who had weaknesses and made mistakes, but He continued working with them and helping them become all that they could be.

Thankfully, He will do the same thing for you, if you will let Him. St. Paul emphatically said that it was important to let go of what lies behind and press toward the things ahead. (Philippians 3:13)

Do not be afraid of your past. It has no power over you except what you give it.

Be thankful for all you have learned in the past, even from your mistake, and also be thankful that today is a new beginning and that something good is going to happen to you today!

Prayer of Thanks

I am grateful, merciful father, that you have given me hope for the future.

Thank you that each day is a new beginning, and I do not have to be controlled by my past any longer.

I can receive your mercy and believe for good things each new day.
