5th Sunday of Easter

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. In my father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you I will go to prepare a place for you?

And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take to myself that where I am, you may be as well. John 14:1-3.

When worried about death and what happens afterward. Jesus comforts us. He tells us what not to go. Do not let your hearts be troubled. He does not want the current situation to create fear and sadness. Next, He tells us to believe in Him. Jesus is redirecting our faith and focus from our circumstances to God, who controls those circumstances. Then He assures us. “I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” John 14:3.

And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43.
